Country : State of Palestine Name of Project : Hebron Regional Wastewater Management Project - Phase Project ID No . : P117449 Assignment Title : Senior Environmental and Social Safeguards Expert Reference No . : GZ - PWA - 149339 - CS - INDV Invitation No . : PWA / WB / 2019 / 047 - CTD The Palestine Liberation Organization , for the benefit of the Palestinian Authority ( PA ) , has received financing from the World Bank - Interational Development Association ( IDA ) , the French Development Agency ( AFD ) , and the European Union ( EU ) towards the cost of the ( Hebron Regional Wastewater Management Project - Phase 1 ] . It is intended that part of the proceeds of this grant will be applied to eligible payments under the contract for payments to a qualified Senior Environmental and Social Safeguards Expert . The Project , which is implemented by the Palestinian Water Authority ( PWA ) , aims to reduce the environmental pollution from wastewater produced in Hebron Municipality . The consulting services ( " the Services " ) include : ( i ) Ensure that PWA activities on safeguards are in compliance with the World Bank ' s Environmental and Social requirements . ( ii ) Develop common knowledge and expertise that promote understanding and capacity building required . ( iii ) Contribute in strengthening the overall capacity of PWA and PWA Environmental and Social Compliance and Monitoring Specialist « ESCMS , in managing , overseeing , monitoring , supervising , reporting and approving the implementation of the environmental and social safeguards measures for the World Bank ' s and other donors ' financed projects . The assignment is expected to commence in January 2020 , and the implementation period is around two years . The Central Tendering Department ( CTD ) now invites eligible Consultants to indicate their interest in providing the Services . Interested Consultants should provide information demonstrating that they have the required qualifications and relevant experience to perform the Services ( TOR can be downloaded from PWA Website : www . pwa . ps ) . The attention of interested Consultants is drawn to paragraph 1 . 9 of the World Bank ' s Guidelines : Selection and Employment of Consultants under BRD Loans and IDA Credits & Grants by World Bank Borrowers , dated January 2011 ( revised July 2014 ) ( " Consultant Guidelines " ) , setting forth the World Bank ' s policy on conflict of interest . A Consultant will be selected in accordance with the selection of Individual Consultants set out in the Consultant Guidelines .
