The Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit ( GIZ ) GmbH is currently implementing the Private Sector Development Programme ( PSDP ) in the Palestinian Territories . As part of PSDP , the Green Growth Palestine ( GGP ) component is implemented by GIZ on behalf of the Ger- man Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development ( BMZ ) , in collaboration with the Palestinian Ministry of National Economy , and is co - financed by the European Union ( EU ) and BMZ .
As part of this project , GIZ intends to award a contract for the rehabilita- tion / construction works of the basement of the Benedictine Sisters ' Monastery of Our Lady of Calvary on the Mount of Olives , Jerusalem , to transform it into a " Green Event Space . "
The works include the rehabilitation and upgrading of the existing basement , including demolition and finishing works , limited structural works , waterproofing , carpentry and tiling , as well as the installation of electrical , heating , cooling , ventilation and other mechanical systems . The intervention will focus on minimal structural interference and sustainable rehabilitation , including reversible construction methods , energy - efficient windows and doors , LED lighting with smart controls , and an energy - efficient VRF heat pump system .
